I was actually trying to re-touch an old digital painting for Nemus Animae but ended up making a new painting from scratch, and I ended up painting a far more subterranean forest of the soul. I like to call this a painted meditation, especially considering the subconscious elements that ended up in the picture. I do not want to say much more as it will detract from what this painting means to me. Yes, it is far more than what it seems.

V. 1. 0, because I accidentally made this painting smaller and I have an enlarged version of it I'll have to touch up before it can become v 2.0. I am almost afraid it will end up a different painting.

Sketched and painted using Paint Shop Pro 7.0 and my Wacom Graphic Tablet. No filters or textures or any additional elements, merely the paintbrush and airbrush tool of different sizes, density and opacity and a whole lot of techniques which mimic the techniques I use with traditional art.
